Cartoon Kitty
This is a kitty putting it's paw on the camera. How can anyone resist the cuteness?
…Time for this week’s story…
Vision Board
What is your vision? Vision is one of the most important qualities someone can have. Without vision, you don't know where you're going. It is important to assess your vision and take appropriate action if you want to make the most of life.
Franky Bean has been tasked with making a vision board. Having never made one before he found inspiration online. He was at a new job and needed to impress. As it was, life had been taxing on Franky, but he persisted, and now he had a lifeline.
With the way life unfolded since college, Franky wondered if perhaps the reason he could never get anywhere was not because of society or the economy, but because he lacked vision. Perhaps a lack of direction was to blame. He had a vague idea of where he has wanted to go, but never a firm picture. He had definitely never organized his idea of the future into an actionable plan.
This was not just a task at a new job, but a chance to learn a new skill with which to plan his future. This was an opportunity to turn it all around! The future was within his grasp and Franky’s excitement coursed through his body.
Lions represent power, courage, and strength. A lion became the centerpiece of his vision board. He added pictures of celebrities and public figures he admired. He found power words and peppered them across the poster in bold text.
Once he started adding his hobbies, it all started to come together. His future was taking shape.
“What on God’s green Earth are you doing?”
Franky jumped and spun around. Standing in the doorway to his office was his new manager, Tom. He was a tall, thin man with well combed hair, wearing slacks and a button-up shirt.
“I'm making that vision board,” Franky said innocently.
“Did you bother to read the instructions on your task? You just needed to print out some Snellen charts on the big cardstock.” Tom stared at Franky, dumbfounded.
“Oh. But, Phil said they're vision boards.”
“The files are categorized under vision boards because nobody can ever remember they're called Snellen charts.”
“Oh… um…” Franky stumbled, unsure of how to proceed.
“Is this construction paper? Did you go to a crafts store? What is all this?” Tom scanned the room full of paper and chopped up magazines. Scissors, glue and tape were all gathered neatly off to one side, but the room was otherwise a mess.
“Yeah, there's a great crafts store at the Metro Garden Plaza so I hopped over there to grab this stuff.”
“The Metro Garden Plaza? That's like a half hour away. Is that why nobody could find you earlier?”
“You guys were looking for me?”
“Yeah, because printing out those Snellen charts was supposed to take five minutes!”
“Oh.”
“Franky, I don't think this is going to work. You need to leave immediately.”
“Aw man. I'm fired?”
“Yes, Franky. Please leave or I'll have security escort you out.”
Franky left without any fuss, making sure to take his vision board with him. He was accustomed to this sort of thing. It was moments like this that made him wonder if he should stop lying on his resumé.
